A second-generation jeweler with 35 years of experience, Kym Snyder has been fascinated by the art of jewelry making ever since he was a kid. With his first attempts at jewelry making at the age of eight, he soon realized this would be both his passion, and his life.
Creating unique designs and custom-made jewelry with a variety of gemstones (peridot, citrine, garnet, topaz, amethyst, sapphire, and colored diamonds), he skillfully casts his own precious metals by masterfully mixing alloys of pure silver and gold in his jewelry studio in Kingston, ON.
He likes exotic designs and, except for his own jewelry, in his studio you’ll find a rich collection of rare antiques and unusual objects from around the world that will make a unique wedding gift. In his studio you’ll find carved idols, ancient Roman artifacts, and even Punjabi milk cans from India! As he says, “I try to stay away from things that I’ve seen before or from commercial designs”. This is true both for the foreign antiques he offers and for the unique jewelry he creates.
A winner of the DeBeers Diamonds International Award (won when he was just 19), Snyder is usually busy creating unique wedding jewelry by commission (he is very famous in the Kingston area for his unique custom-made wedding bands), but he always manages to steal a little time to get creative.
