Cupcake Wedding Cakes : Love it or Hate it?

Cupcake wedding cakes are a raising trend to the traditional wedding cake.

Why are brides ordering this type of cake? Well, each guest at your wedding gets their own miniature decorated wedding cake. You don’t have to pay the catering staff to cut the cake, and it does say a lot about your personality not to go with the norm.

I personally love this idea.

I think it opens up different ways to display your wedding cake. You can get very creative decorating the cupcakes and it is so easy to serve, so less cake goes to waste.

What do you think?

I personally don’t care for them. I like cupcakes and all but I prefer the look of an actual cake at the wedding. You might not have to pay your caterer to plate and serve a cupcake but they can get just as expensive as a cake. Especially if you have to rent a tower or start adding cute little toppers or fancy wrappers or have them filled.

As a guest I REALLY prefer a piece of cake on a plate with a fork. I hate having to deal with taking the wrapper off, cake crumbs falling all over the place, sticky fingers and how the heck do you eat a cupcake delicately? If I’m in my dressy wedding clothes I really don’t want to have to shove a very large piece of cake into my face with my bare hands. And then when it’s gone I’ve got to find a place to clean all that stickiness off. At least please have some containers of moist towelettes around for the the guests to conveniently clean off their hands.
